DRUMS​ 'N CYMBALS

For Vintage Drum Loops, we used vintage drums and cymbals in order to re-create that classic, vintage sound.  We used a 1963 Ludwig drum set along with an assortment of Ludwig and Slingerland snare drums from the 1950s and 60s.  For the cymbals, we used Zildjians from the same period.  The drums delivered a warm tonal resonance and the cymbals provided the warm, dark, buttery wash. Various sizes of hi-hat cymbals were used.  Generally, the tempo dictated which snare drum(s) and hi-hats would be used.  The snare drum's tuning, the degree of deepening, even its depth, were all considerations. The kind of beat being played (i.e. straight, swung, busy) was factored in as well.
